When Sora comes, whose job will it destroy?

Just enter a few words to generate an explosive 60-second video! The video generation model Sora launched by the Open Artificial Intelligence Research Center (OpenAI) in the United States has recently shocked the world.

What is Sora's ability?

The multiple short video "blockbusters" generated by Sora are flooding the Internet, with realistic and silky scenes and rich details.

On the day after Sora was launched, the stock price of Adobe, which specializes in image processing and video production software, fell by more than 7%.

Hollywood last year suffered its first industry-wide strike by writers and actors in 63 years because some jobs in the industry may be replaced by artificial intelligence. The emergence of Sora makes this threat more imminent and real.

Make forgeries more realistic and difficult to spot

OpenAI writes in the title of its Sora technical report that the video generation model is a "world simulator."

If the world can be simulated, where is the boundary between truth and falsehood? Many people in the industry are worried that Sora will contribute to the "deepfake" technology. "When news, images, audio, video ?anything can be faked, then nothing in that world is real," said Farid, associate dean of the School of Information at the University of California, Berkeley.

In response to concerns about fraud, OpenAI said that when it actually launches its product to the public, it will ensure that the generated video contains source metadata and launch tools to detect the authenticity of the video. OpenAI also promised that it will take safety measures before using Sora in products, including adversarial testing of the model by "experts in areas such as misinformation, hateful content, and bias" to assess harm or risk; verifying and rejecting content containing extreme violence, sexual content, etc. Text input prompts for content, hateful images, other people’s IPs, etc.

However, OpenAI acknowledges that even with extensive research and testing, "we cannot predict all the beneficial ways people will use our technology and all the ways they will abuse it."
